Welcome to the Ideas Garden

Welcome to the Ideas Garden
Still from 'Constant Gardeners' a brand film I produced for Moleskine (written and directed by Jo Tanner, Dog Cat and Mouse).

Dear reader, thank you for your interest. I have been writing very sporadically on the previous version of this blog, Ideas that Do on Substack. I am now starting a new phase in which I plan to publish more regularly, roughly every other week.

My previous posts focused on themes related to my work: brand strategy, creative leadership, design, media, communications. I will continue to write about these things, but also branch out and connect them to broader areas of enquiry. Everything is connected. A lot of what I write is informed by what I read, the films I watch, the conversations I have, and the wider social, cultural and political context.

The ideas garden is an experiment in thinking by writing. It is a space for growing ideas in various stages of development. A way to think in public. I hope you will find it interesting, and that you will subscribe and maybe share it with others. I welcome your feedback, which will help the ideas flourish.
If any of this resonates, please leave your comments. You can also get in touch using one of the links here.

Finally, you may have noticed this is no longer on Substack. For a number of reasons I have migrated to this website, powered by the nonprofit, open-source publishing platform Ghost. If you already subscribe to Ideas that do and wish to continue receiving it, you don’t need to do anything: your account will be automatically moved to the new platform.
